got back off holiday, new clutch fitted and still not working, so changed the master cylinder to a new genuine one (122+VAT) and still dead!! So now gonna change my patent slave cylinder to a genuine one and see what happens.

Cant believe the damn thing still isnt working!!!!!!

Don't bend the hose to the slave cylinder too much or you'll break it. SteveH has a painful BTDT on this one.

That did get a kink on the rubber part which we sorted, but nothing leaking or nothing and is pumping everything thru ok from how it looked when we bled it.

Just hope its the patent slave cylinder, cos there is nothing else left to change once thats a genuine one

Thats what SteveH had as well - the rubbery looking hose is a sleeve for a metallic hose which breaks when its bent to much and you can't see the leak apparently. Best talk to him for the details - I'm just recounting the vague highlights of a quick chat we had at Billing. I spent too much ****** time working instead of talking - AGAIN !

Box out again to check that tho, how is that inspected, cos was thinking earlier maybe the part that the slave cylinder pushes on to has something wrong with it.

Box out yep You would have to compare it to a new one, or known good one. Change the slave cyl and go from there.

i changed the slave for a patent part (had the VW Audi badge ground off, so should be plenty good enough)

So it now has a new genuine master cylinder, that slave one and the uprated clutch and new release bearing.

Knowing my bloody luck it will be that release arm or something :@ :@

Just wanna drive the damn thing, tempted to sell up to clear debts now, cos would love to get out of this country now!!

having looked at those diagrams, does anyone know if the release arm can be dis-located, cos it looks like it might be possible from the diagram.... Tom do you know seems your the gearboc guru LOL

right, latest in this, ive now bought a genuine slave cylinder, tried fitting it last night, but couldnt compress the cylinder enough by hand to get it to fit.... gonna try again later on, its def the correct one and is much hard to compress in to the little bracket that it mounts on, so looks more hopeful, as the patent one was very easy to compress and push in.

Find out later on, i know this much tho... if its running im gonna drive it so hard i'll probably end up breaking something else

Ant, ensure you have the bleed nipple open or the hose removed when you try and fit it. It took me ages to get mine onto the box with the hoses attached. I gave up the first time I tried to fit it

Yeh Nipple is loose and pipe isnt connected.

Its just much harder to compress than the patent one, so hopefully, this will solve the issues, there didnt seem to be much force on the rod with the patent slave cylinder...
